Family get-away
Brian C. from Greenville, NC recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in August, 2018
This beautiful historic home has been thoughtfully renovated to add modern comfort and preserve historic charm. The private backyard is well laid out for gathering around a grill. Location is convenient to beach, attractions and dining. Neighbor (to the left) was very friendly and eager to offer local insight on dining.Property management was OUTSTANDING. Check in was easy with e-sign contract and coded access. Downstairs air conditioning had a small issue during our stay and a repair man was sent without hesitation on a holiday weekend. One of my sons left behind a personal item. Not only was the item found, but it was overnighted back to him.

Flamingo Point - Cozy and Comfortable
PATRICIA N. from PFLUGERVILLE, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in August, 2018
Flamingo Point was a great alternative to staying on the beach. The neighborhood was very convenient to downtown (The Strand) Galveston and was lovely filled with beautiful, interesting old homes that made our trip more historically interesting. It was also fairly close to Stewart Beach. The home has a cozy back yard great for cooking and visiting with family. The only drawback was that the television didn't work. The cable seemed to be disconnected and we also had to replace batteries in the remote. The management company did not respond to our request for help with the TV and it felt, overall, that the personnel was really not interested in what we needed both before we arrived when I needed assistance with the contract and then responding to our need after we arrived.

Lovely Home
Kay C. from Hull, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in May, 2018
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely home during our annual journey to Galveston for the Galveston Historic Homes Tour. As others mentioned, the ONLY downside to this home is only one shower inside the home. But it was a non-issue for us. There were three women and one man and it worked very smoothly. Loved the backyard with gazebo for morning coffee and an adult beverage in the evening. It was very peaceful with background birdsong. The home is very comfortably furnished. We all enjoyed good sleep on the comfortable beds. And the dining room table worked well for evening games. It was so nice to be within walking distance of several excellent restaurants, and the neighborhood is beautiful and great for a nice walk. The home was very clean and in excellent condition. We would definitely stay again!!

Nicely refurbished Victorian home.
A guest from Spring, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2017
This was the first time we have ever stayed or rented a house. Normally we enjoy the B&B experience. As "Newbies" some of the things we thought as "different" may be normal for a house rental. When we arrived that night we were amazed the hot water wasn't...the next morning I found out the hot water tank had to be turned on! Found later in the email I had been sent, (under the house info paragraph) "You may have to turn on the hot water heater" I assumed the paragraph When You Arrive had all that was needed to get going. The other item we were wondering about was the requirement on leaving was to sweep (both the inside and outside), not only load the dishes, but once they were clean put them away...we wondered why we didn't have to put the sheets in the washer and dryer and back on the bed. I understand a request to sweep and empty trash cans. Sweeping the outside seemed a bit much, as did waiting for the dishes to finish to put them away. Our question, did a cleaning crew come in after us or were we the cleaning crew for the next rental? My main gripe being we had to leave by 11 AM. Cooking breakfast, cleaning the kitchen after breakfast, putting out all the trash (which I was expecting to do) and then sweeping, stripping the beds, along with finishing up packing the kitchen and cleaning supplies we brought, and our typical travel luggage items...If we weren't early risers, there was no way we would have made it out the door by 11 AM. Now with all of that, the house itself was very comfortable. The kitchen is very modern and nicely put together. We enjoyed the outside patio area. The BBQ grill...the people that used it last did not clean it or turn off the gas. (both things are items that should be done every time it is used) The grill is now cleaner than when we arrived. This experience has given us another choice instead of a B&B, knowing what we do, more questions will be asked and we will be more prepared.

Neat old home, beautifully updated
J.D. H. from Garland, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in July, 2017
This is a neat old home located within walking distance (although it was a fairly long walk in July evening heat) of Galveston's downtown / Strand / waterfront. Having three couples in our group, the one knock on the property (like other have mentioned) is that it only has a shower in the master and one outdoors. Not a big deal, but something to consider. Also within easy walking distance of Original Tex Mex and a great breakfast cafe.

My girlfriends and I really enjoyed this house! The house itself is lovely, well decorated and comfortable. The patio is amazing, and we spent most of our time out there. Billie at the rental office was exceptional to work with and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place. The only thing to be aware of is that there is only 1 shower (2 bathtubs), which can be a challenge for 6 ladies getting ready to go out to dinner!

A guest from Liberty Hill, TX recommends this property.

This home was such a wonderful place to stay in. Great location within walking distance of the Historic District, fantastic and beautiful old Victorian home tastefully updated without losing its old charm (the 130 year old staircase was gorgeous). Modern elegant kitchen and bathrooms. By far one of the best features was the backyard pavilion with comfy outdoor chairs, a grill (which we didn't have time to use) and cozy bistro lights strung around the perimeter. I think you can tell we really loved this place! Our previous trips to Galveston have been in hotels. Not any more.

We've rented a few vacation homes before and I must say that this house exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully renovated with modern amenities and comforts, yet captured the history of the house. Great Location; Great House!
Marcia M. from Neenah, WI recommends this property.
Stayed for 60 days in February, 2016
The description of the property is thorough and accurate, so there's no need to repeat that here. We stayed for two months from February to beginning of April, and enjoyed every minute. The best part is the location, as we were only about half a mile from downtown Galveston, and frequently walked to the piers, Katie's Seafood, the Strand, library, Visitor's Center, and many of the downtown restaurants. We loved the way this house had been restored, with a modern kitchen and master bath. The outdoor patio and front porch were popular once the weather warmed up.If you plan a lengthy stay, you might want to be aware of the following:The t.v. has very limited channels, and we had to resort to our laptop and an HDMI cord in order to watch ESPN and other sports programming. The kitchen is roomy and well-stocked with dishes and cookware, but there is no room for groceries since many of the cabinets are locked. The two upstairs bathrooms are accessible only by walking through a bedroom, and only one has a shower. There is one closet for you, and it is in the middle bedroom. There is limited drawer space for the middle bedroom and no drawers for the front bedroom. That room could use a dresser. This is a beautifully restored older home and we would definitely return except it is a little pricey for us, especially because we hope to stay for three months next year.

I am thoroughly enjoying my stay in this delightful home, one that survived the 1900 hurricane and has been lovingly restored by its owners. It is a place to spend leisurely days rocking on the front porch, swinging on the porch swing in the back yard, entertaining in the formal dining room or enclosed back yard. The location is perfect for anyone who enjoys strolling past old Victorian mansions and homes. It is within walking distance of the bay, beach, The Strand, and many wonderful restaurants. It has been a perfect retreat for me as I write my next novel (which is set here in Galveston - a charming city rich in history and culture.) Highly recommended!

A guest from Princeton, NJ recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014
This house exceeded my expectations in terms of providing a genuine historical experience of Galveston, as well as in being well-appointed and comfortable. The location was really great for a person like me -- who appreciates a quiet retreat, but being within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, etc.. The listing says that it will sleep 7, but unless you are tiny people, I wouldn't try that. There were four of us (no couples, and all over 6' tall), and only two of us had big enough beds. But those two beds were awesome! One of them was a king-size, four poster, with a very comfortable mattress. Oh, one other thing: the windows don't have black-out curtains, so beware if you have trouble sleeping in light.

I usually like to leave positive reviews, however the lack of response from the management company has prompted me to make my experience public. When I checked in, I had to wash all the bed linens on all the beds.. they had not been changed.. hairs, sand and dirt were everywhere. There were kids under shorts left in one of the beds. The toilets weren't cleaned and I found a fake eyelash on the dresser in the master. The towels in both bathrooms were still damp.. so they were folded and put up before they had time to dry. I called the morning after I checked in.. left a message and no response. I sent an email once I returned home.. still no response.
