Quiet,except the ocean waves, and comfortable. 5 stars for a 2 star price and decor. Last condo to need remodeling, but if you arent expecting a new condo, there's nothing to complain about. I brought my own memory foam mattress pad, beach towels, coffee grinder, dvd player, and tolietries for my daughter to use. One set of towels, but there's a laundry. Very limited kitchen items. Needs pans for cooking in the oven. Fans only, no air conditioning. Take advantage of living next door to the most beautiful white sand beach in Kailua, but be careful of the waves if it's rough. Great location great building; unit's kitchen needs upgrade A guest from Victoria, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2013 I have stayed here a few times and love this location and love the unit's open ocean front lanai- always feels safe and building and common areas, pool, parking etc are very well maintained. Condo studio unit has been painted since I was last here and brighter; average in regard to quality of furniture etc- Wi Fi connection is difficult/weak in unit- Ok at pool side, property management company needs to put Wi Fi connection info and available guest networks in unit rental information- I had to contact them to request access info. Booking was easy process- seems property management of unit may have changed in last while, I had problems with the very old kitchen stove/range in second week of my stay- it would not work, seemed unsafe electrically and though my reporting it right away to property management company brought the promise of a repair person coming by imminently- didn't happen and problem was not solved and I was unable to cook for the last few days of my stay- which was a hassle. I would have liked some adjustment to my rental fees paid in full because of this lack of full kitchen amenities- but have not had a reply to my request for consideration of this from the property management company. Disappointing. The kitchen amenities/ equipment really needs an upgrade- and customer/guest service and follow through by property management folk needs a refresh. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2013 The property was in a great location right on the water with a pleasant pool and restaurant. The check-in and check-out process was straight forward and simple. However, the unit was lacking some basic amenities such as sponges, towels, and a drying rack to clean dishes. The range was also unlabeled and difficult to operate. There appeared to be a switch for a garbage disposal, but the disposal does not seem to be working. We will be back.However, as the web pictures show, the unit needs updating, stove is marginal, fridge is old, repainted, but works well, bed is comfortable, but could use a colorful pretty bedspread and bed ruffle to make the place pretty. Computer access is cranky, but works, and works better by the pool with the public access. Knutson and staff responsive with problems. We love the Bog Island! The stove was a bit iffy, which is why general conditions only got a 3, but otherwise all was well. Lots of hot water. Not a five star resort by any means, but well maintained and a very pleasant environment. A car is fairly important here, though. The beach next to the unit is crowded and has quite a strong shorebreak. Lots of people do swim and boogie board, but mostly young, strong swimmers.The instructions for check in/out were great, and the management very helpful.
