The condo has been completely refurbished with fully upgraded kitchen and baths, new carpeting, window coverings, and beautiful new furniture. There is a 7 night minimum stay at this complex & 10 night minimum during Christmas Season. This is a non smoking unit as well as no smoking on the lanai's or walk-ways at this complex. W-01

I spent an entire morning cleaning the lanai and railing of accumulated bird droppings and then needed to give the area a quick clean daily. The fans in the rooms helped with the warm evenings in November but had to leave the sliding glass door open to sleep. Half of the lanai had bird droppings so recommend blocking off the beam where they nest.I would highly recommend this condo to anyone who needs a place to stay in Kailua-Kona. Mahalo! My family rented this condo during Ironman Hawaii. It was a perfect location; located about 6 miles from the race start and less than 1 mile from the turn around on the run course. We enjoyed being slightly removed from the very busy downtown Kona and race excitement. I was still able to enjoy running along Alii Dr in my final prep leading up to the race. The condo was clean, with comfortable beds and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen including the blender. Thank you!! The view from the lanaii is spectacular. We spent most of our time out there enjoying the ocean view. The pool can be seen from the deck. The condo comples is very quiet; the front bedroom does have more street noise so we found the windows needed to be shut at night in that room. There is a snorkeling beach 1 mile (towards down town) My children enjoyed a surf lesson there and saw lots of colorful fish and turtles. The shopping mall is a 5 minute walk from the condo - trolley car that will take you downtown for a $2 fare. There is another beach 4 miles from the condo where alot of people go to boogie board. This was a hit with the kids. They could have spent all day there. We had everything we needed within a short drive and the necessities within walking distance. The staff at Kona Coast Vacations were wonderful to deal with....thank you for a great holiday. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 We made our reservation on a Sunday at the last minute so we were very happy the property manager came in to clean the property herself since it hadn't been rented in a few months. The unit was decorated nicely but we would have liked a few spices, condiments etc. That we have found in other rentals. Also the step from when you are leaving the pool had a grate that didn't go all the way across and my husband tripped on it and hurt his knees and back and that limited a lot of what we were able to do for the rest of the trip. O would recomended that the company give you an option for a late check out if tue unit is not rented.... We had to check out at 11:00 and our plane did not leave until 9:00 and I had a bad headache and would have liked to be able to sleep and my husband and son would have liked to use the pool. The $130 cleaning fee seems high considering how small the unit is. Ultimately we will not be staying here again.... We would rather rent from private owners instead of a company, they are more flexible about check out times and the other 4 places we stayed (private rented Homes from VRBO) were all bigger, had private pools, were about the same price and had lower cleaning fees- so we felt they were a better deal. We stayed in different areas on the Kona and Hilo side trying to determine what area we liked best to buy a retirement home. However, I had to sleep on a twin mattress on the floor because the king bed mattress was so weak and old, that my back was killing me! I would suggest getting a new mattress for that bed. Also, if he doesn't want everyone to take out his best towels to the beach, he should put in some inexpensive beach towels. Kitchen appliances like colander and vegetable peeler would be nice. Also a few condiments. Also, there were no explanations of how to operate the DVD, TV, stereo. Putting those instructions in the book would be good. We have two rental homes, so we've learned over the years from our guest's comments. We were very pleased with the accommodations. We had a problem getting the key from the lock by the door because no one left a light on so we could not see the numbers on the combination. We ended up borrowing a flashlight from a neighbour. The accommodations were very clean and spacious. The appliances were fine, but the refrigerator and dishwasher were quite noisy. The kitchen was quite well stocked, but there was a conspicuous absence of a reamer/juicer and there wasn't enough storage containers for our food. We loved the knives. We welcomed the non-smoking condo, however the smoke from adjacent lanais was quite unpleasant and at times limited our use of our lanai. We also had to close all the windows/doors to prevent the smoke from seeping into our apartment. If at all possible, the whole condo unit should be made non-smoking including the lanais! They were very accomodating having the cleaners clean for the next people in the a.m. so we could stay a late as we wanted...worth the fee!!! LOVED IT!!!
