An OK Condo right in Kona Dave M. from St. Paul, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in January, 2013 We stayed at Kona Plaza 314 for 10 nights. Nice place if you want to be in town. No ocean view, no ocean sounds ( which we missed). The screens fell out of the windows, no "hot" water in the master bath (just warm). The screaming kids from the daycare next door all day. The kitchen outdated but functional. Don't believe the blurb about heated pool, trust me it is definitely NOT heated. Jump in jump out, no jacuzzi. I know I make it sound bad but really was not all that bad. It's just a few things that mean a lot to us so it was a disappointment. Don't rent a car, you don't need it. Walk to Walmart and Safeway for groceries and you are right in the bar and restaurant area. A cab from the airport is $30. The sun decks and grills were more used than the pool. Overall not bad, but next time we are headed back out on the ocean side of Alii drive. For the price it's a good deal but make sure you are not going for the ocean views and sounds because this one will disappoint . I was vacationing with my 82 year old mother and when I arrived and found out there was no telephone was very upset. I did have a cell phone and as I am from Canada it was quite expensive to have service in the US but felt I needed to have access. No where in the information did it say No Telephone ! There needs to be some maintenance issues addressed. Loved the screened in lanai. We ate all of our meals out there. Nice pool and friendly people. Stayed for 11 days in December, 2011 Great location in town and a good value for the money.A couple of suggestions:The kitchen is very basic; a better cooktop and ovens, cooking tools and stemware would have been appreciated. Needs a blender!The bedrooms face the walkway and the blinds are pretty basic. Adding heavy curtains help block the light and sounds and would be appreciated.The showers are quite small if you're a big person like me.Feedback, not complaints. I would definitely recommend the property to others who want a good value in a great location!
