The home was absolutely beautiful and offered every amenity we needed to feel at home. Our 22 month old could now get enough of the pool - it was perfect for a small child just learning to swim. The backyard was our own little paradise with the lush landscape and wide variety of tropical birds. Being in Hawaii is already spectacular but this house and its ammenitites added the 'at home comfort' that made us feel like we lived in this Island paradise.Right from the start when we were greeted at the home, given a tour and provided with any and all contact information we would need left us with an 'all questions answered' feel. The greeting basket of fruits/vegetables and coffee was exciting and enjoyed by all. We had a party of 7, age ranging from 3 to 68 and absolutely all needs and wants were met - from having a twin beds loft, pool and 2 king bed master suites. It was a very comfortable and relaxing home. We loved spending time by the pool and watching the birds and lizards. There was some noise in the early mornings from kayakers leaving the nearby beach and a few late at night in the park, but it wasn't a big deal. The coffee, fruit, and handmade soap are an added bonus. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his four-legged friend Ginger - both wonderful. The owner truly cares about your experience at his property and does everything he can to be sure you enjoy your stay. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Kailua Kona. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2012 This spacious, creatively designed, and tastefully decorated vacation home provided the perfect luxurious atmosphere of a resort, with all of the comforts and privacy of an upscale home. The sprawling balcony offered a beautiful view of Keahou Bay, while we drank our cocktails and watched breath-taking sunsets. We awoke to the pleasant sound of the mini waterfall and the birds chirping and bathing in the water. We enjoyed watching all of the various boats water crafts, and the abundance of activities that goes on in the bay. We were delighted to be able to lauch our personal kayak right into Keahou Bay and safely paddle and view the amazing scenery. The house is conveniently located near the shopping center for quick trips to the store and to the farmer's market. The spacious kitchen was well-stocked with cookingware which made it easy and fun to cook together and having access to two refrigerators kept everything cold and fresh. We had the perfect vacation and we absolutely fell in love with this house! We look forward to staying in this house again this summer for a quiet family getaway. Shockingly Beautiful Home Jillian T. from Fallon, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2012 Keauhou Luakaha is beautiful in every way - the extra touches from the owner (handmade soaps, fresh flowers, coffee beans, fruit basket) heightened the beauty and feeling of luxury. The view of Keauhou Bay is wonderful from the lanai. The upstairs shower was a treat as was the private pool.The set up of this house was ideal for two families traveling together though the stairs weren't ideal for travel with a toddler but we knew that coming it. However, they were an excellent deterrent from keeping her from wandering toward the pool!As mentioned before, noise can be an issue mainly because of the huge screen windows in the master bedroom. We didn't have a problem with the noise from the comings and goings of the bay- the neighbors were doing some sort of construction and they were starting very early! Nevertheless, that is no indicator and should not be used in judgement to the house itself.The rental company was adequate and the minor key code issue we had upon arrival was addressed quickly.
