The condo was in a great location, across the street from a beach and close to food and other amenities. The only set back was the bug issue we dealt with the whole week we were there. Unfortunately that was the dark cloud of our visit. Utilizing the kitchen was not even an option which was disappointing because we were hoping to be able save money by not eating out every day. Stayed for 20 days in April, 2012 The general experience was good because the location of the property, the swimming area, and the general feeling of the condo was nice. If I were to give constructive criticism, I would encourage new sheets that are 100% cotton, with a high thread count, that match the bedspread. What defined the stay in a negative way were the bugs - there were cockroaches all over the kitchen and even in the sofa and living room. I had to get one out of my purse, and I felt I could not cook there, so I bought all of my food already made, and put everything in the fridge -even used containers that I threw away daily. Other than that, the place is adorable, and a perfect size. I appreciate the time I spent there. Thank you. Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui This condo was sprayed after these guests left. In the tropics bugs can be a problem at times. This complex is sprayed quarterly but occasionally a guest will not allow the fumigator in because of allergies. The result is that the condo will be skipped for that quarter. Good snorkeling and some shade at fairly uncrowded Kamiole II beach. Watch unsets from the lanai or walk down to the beach. Restaurants and stores next door. Pool was nice but we didn't spend much time there. Nice barbecue grills (2) by the pool that you could see from the condo if it was being used but never had to wait to grill some fish or steak. But you need a regular pest control contract to take care of the very small ants that were on the kitchen and bathroom areas from day one. Also ran into a few roaches as well. Thinks list on listing that were not there- DVR unit, Ice maker unless you call half a doz ice cube trays and Ice maker. A note from the owners to ask you to dump the condinsate pan on the AC if it overflows. Way to much noise from the walkway next to the bedroom slatted windows on top and it the main walk way to the elevators for the other floors. Price to high for the unit. The bedroom window was by the walkway and echoed anytime someone spoke or a car drove up. We ended up sleeping on the sofa in the living room the entire time, which was very quiet. The bed and sofa were old and a bit uncomfortable due to their age and the apartment smelled old. Updating on the beds really need to be made. Everything worked well,nice flat screen tv . The unit came with great beach chairs and snorkels and beach towels which was great to have. I have stayed at Maui Sunset a couple of times, nice place on the water side and I thought I would try some place new. It was not on the water but more centrally located. Boy was I disapointed. Room was not really very clean, other than the new appliances it has'nt been updated in a while, Paint is old, bath tile is 80's at best, kitchen cabinets are filthy, especially over the microwave, bed room louver windows hav'nt been cleaned i'll bet in 5 years. furniture is basic and uncomfortable. The pool is minimal, overcrowded 12'x30' for 120+ rooms? oh and two barbeques, glad I did'nt bbq much, but the location was good. I still made the wrong choice. Stay with what you know.
