The Kahele Kai home and location are unbelievable! If you are looking for a Kauai vacation destination in Poipu, Kahele Kai is an excellent choice. The floor plan is set up so that there is a master bedroom and bath with a jacuzzi tub, a 2nd bedroom and bath,an ocean view kitchen, living, and dining area, and a comfortable covered lanai on the 2nd level. There are lovely whitewater views of the ocean and tropical swaying palms visible from the central living area and large lanai.

The entry level has a private en suite studio with a mini kitchen, a cozy area to watch TV/DVD, and a 3rd huge bedroom and bath.

Brennecke's Beach is an easy 75 yard walk and has the BEST body boarding ever. Poipu Beach is adjacent and versatile with a baby beach, snorkeling, swimming in Waiohai Bay, and popular surf spots. And after a long day at the beach, you can stroll to casual and fine dining.

We had 3 couples and there was plenty of space for all of us. It was clean with spacious rooms and a kitchen that was easy to cook in. A fantastic house in a dreamy location! A guest from Girdwood, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 What an incredible place! Our family of 5 along with 2 grandparents stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed the home and the location. The home was very spacious, the lanai had an ocean view and was perfect for our meals. The master bedroom was luxurious with lots of space, a comfortable bed, and a wonderful bathroom. The outdoor grill was great and the kitchen was well appointed and had plenty of space for multiple chefs. The outdoor shower/rinse off station was THE BEST thing! It truly kept lots of sand out of the house. We loved the close proximity to the beach - very easy stroll, even with a 2 year old. The home was very well ventilated and stayed cool with the windows open and the ceiling fans circulating the wonderful tropical air. One suggestion - a small floor rug or mat at the bottom of the stairs would make a safer last step. My mom took quite a spill on the wet tile and twisted her back, which put a bit of a damper on the rest of her vacation and physical activity. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and we would LOVE to come back to this beautiful home. Loved the separate living spaces. Only complaints were multiple burned out light bulbs, propane BBQ was difficult to start and a couple of nights with noisy neighbors (wedding party). Great Property for Families with young children A guest from Glenwood Springs, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in October, 2012 Our stay at Kahele Kai was wonderful and worked perfect for our family! We were pleasantly surprised by the array of items left by others for our use; beach toys for the babies, boards, games, beach towels, umbrellas and chairs. Wow! We in turn left a Pak-n-Play (cheaper to buy than rent for two weeks) for future guests. We wish to thank Vicky and Christine at Poipu365 for their quick response in replacing a very tired and worn out grill as that was our main cooking utensil! Christine told me she would call me back and never did. The beds were listed inaccurately and I was basically told that 'this is how it is' 2 twin beds were pushed together to make a king bed and an airbed was given to us instead of one of the twin beds we were supposed to receieve. the rest of the home was in good shape with snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and a full kitchen. The location was also good. Directions from the staff were easy to understand as far as location, rules, and how to get the keys out. The beach house was relaxing even though we had a lot of people, the beach was very close, with sea turtles and monk seals. Red-crested cardinals and shama thrushes were tame in the yard. Wonderful Stay at Kahele Kai! A guest from Draper, UT recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2012 My family stayed in the master bedroom and set up a pack ?n play for my son and still had plenty of room. The master bathroom was very clean and spacious. My sister's family stayed in the studio downstairs where there was a queen and a twin bed. The bathroom is just outside of the bedroom and the main living area had a couch, TV, stereo and kitchenette. There is an additional bedroom upstairs with two twin beds and another full bathroom upstairs just outside of the bedroom.The kitchen, living and dining areas were very spacious and airy and have a partial ocean view. We cooked breakfast each morning and enjoyed a lot of snacks at the house, which was much easier than dining out each meal with toddlers. We also had evening cocktails on the lanai after our kids went to sleep? a very relaxing way to end the day. The house was very quiet and I did not hear street noise while we were there. The ocean was close enough to hear when the house was quiet, but not so loud that it kept my son or I awake. I mentioned the waves to my husband on our first night there, but he hadn?t even noticed the sound. The only other noise was from the roosters, but they are all over the island, so I think you?d hear them no matter where you stayed.When I contacted Vicki or Stacie at Poipu 365, responses were prompt and very friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Kahele Kai to friends or family and look forward to staying there again in the future. Unprofessionalism, Discrimination, and non-operational appliances Leialoha S. from Lihue, HI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2011 While the unit was well maintained, the management company was horrible. Vicky is very unprofessional and nosey! On the second day of our stay, Vicky came to the house to discuss plastic chairs that were stacked outside near the garage, due to a neighbor?s complaint. This was very disturbing, and made our stay in the home VERY uncomfortable knowing that the mere sight of chairs could have an effect on our accommodations. We felt as if we were being watched and felt much discriminated against. I had also called Vicky to inform her that the following items were not operating appropriately: TV in the upstairs common area, the telephone, and the oven. She informed me that the repair man would be coming and would also be bringing propane for the BBQ. All these items were not completed until late Friday afternoon!! When the repair man left, the TV and the telephone still were not fixed and the he had noticed the stove top had been crack prior to our arrival and needed to be replaced. These items not working appropriately hampered our stay traumatically! I felt ignored and mistreated!!Then to add to what should have been a relaxing stay, Vicky showed up on Sunday, saying ?you?re supposed to check out this morning we have another check-in?. This was very awkward and unprofessional. She had not checked with her office and was unaware that we had extended our stay until Monday shortly after we had booked the home in September. We were very unsatisfied and would like action to be taken so that another family will not have to deal with unprofessionalism, discrimination, and non-operational appliances.
