We were really appreciative of the snorkel and other gear that was made available for our use. Tremendous sea views and the cross breezes were very nice - no need for air conditioning (at least in November). The only slight inconvenience is the locking system of the unit which requires two hands for entry and exit which is a bit awkward when you are carrying things. Also it would be helpful to mention the Sea Lodge beach in the materials supplied - we only found it near the end of our stay. There were beach towels, chairs, snorkeling masks and fins, coolers, even sunscreen and sunhats stocked in the closet, along with wireless internet, cable TV, CD/DVD players, washer/dryer, guidebooks, and basic kitchen gear, including a toaster, coffee maker and blender, in the unit. We had everything we needed! The view is the best thing about the unit, with views of Anini Beach and Kiluaea lighthouse - absolutely gorgeous!!! I was nervous about the lack of air conditioning in August, but the ocean breezes and ceiling fans were perfect - wouldn't have used AC anyway. Some negative things: The unit was very clean on arrival, but we did find one (dying) cockroach on the kitchen counter one morning. There was also a slight musty/wet smell in the unit, but both nusiances must come with the territory/climate. The pool is tiny and the BBQ is not gas. There is a unit above you so you likely will hear footsteps overhead (we did.) Sealodge Beach is difficult to get (hike) to, too shallow for real swimming/snorkeling and has too many mosquitoes. However, if you're willing to drive 10-15 minutes, you'll be thrilled by Hideaways, Secret Beach and of course Ke 'e and Tunnels a bit farther afield. Loved having Princeville Foodland and Lapperts ice cream a 5 minute drive away and all the restaurants of Hanalei Bay (try Bubbas, Baracuda, Tahiti Nui and Hanalei Coffee Roasters) just a little farther down the road.Bottom line - E7 was an unbeatable value! Location was perfect, close to grocery store and everything we wanted to do.We received one bothersome phone call to the unit's telephone number regarding some "critical errors" they were monitoring on our computer (we're pretty sure it was a hacker, as the caller hung up after we did not provide the information they were requesting). After that incident we did not use the unit's "secure wireless" internet access but did use the unit's hard-line connection without further incident. Called maintenance. Hope these minor items were fixed after our stay. Great Location, Average Condo Andrew R. from Waterford, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 First of all, the view was spectacular and the beach was fantastic. The condo, however, detracted from the experience. The first problem we had was when we rented the condo on-line. The listed price was $125/ night but it rang up at $135/ night, not that big a deal, but it feels kind of deceiving. When we arrived the first night there were cockroaches on the kitchen counter. We called the maintenance manager who said he would put out traps the next day, but he didn't, so I had to go buy some myself. The snorkel equipment was cheap - the strap of one of the masks broke when I first put it on and one of the snorkels kept filling with water. The smoke detector would go off from the steam from the shower if the windows weren't open, which I'm sure the neighbors loved at 5 am. Finally, the entire condo was white - walls, cabinets, carpet, counter, which did not give it that warm island feel. With all the properties on the north shore, you can do better than this one.
