The Del Mar Fairgrounds host the San Diego County Fair each year from early to June to early July, an event that draws many attendees and offers carnival rides, prizes, games, and various entertainment options. A thoroughbred racetrack is also on the grounds in Del Mar, a site which saw Bing Crosby at its opening ceremony way back in 1937 and also played host to a legendary race between Seabiscuit and Ligorati. The track has maintained an elite status through the present day, after a large renovation in the 90's brought it up to date and has propelled it to strong attendance and main draws ever since. |
