The beaches in Vero Beach are part of Florida's Treasure Coast. Vero's main public beach is South Beach. Additional Vero beaches include Humiston Park, in Vero's Central Beach Business District, and Conn Beach next to Jaycee Park. Other points of interest include the McKee Botanical Garden, which features over 18 acres of lush tropical flora, and the Environmental Learning Center, where visitors can come and explore over 51 acres of plants, trees and flowers native to Florida. If arts and nature are not of interest, the Outlets at Vero Beach or Safari Mini Golf and Games, may be a more compelling way to pass the time. The former features 65 retail outlets, including higher-end retail like Dooney and Burke, BCBG Max Azria, and Ralph Lauren. You can take a little piece of Florida back home with you through the Hale Indian River Groves. With four locations in Vero Beach, it is easy to ship local citrus fruits and jams anywhere in the country. The downside is that summer vacationers won't be able to take advantage of the groves. They are closed during the summer, with the prime selling time being between the months of November to late April. |
