Just outside of Jacksonville, FL lies Atlantic Beach. Its location gives one the convenience of being near a large metropolitan area while still retaining that small-town feeling. The mild weather and white sandy beaches are perfect for sunbathing year-round, but what Atlantic Beach is most known for is the preference the locals have for the surfing that can be found there.

Nature lovers will love the areas 27-acre island known as the Dutton Island Preserve. The island was converted to a nature park in 1998. It now features hiking trails, a fishing pier, a dock for kayaks and canoes, and campsites. For the less outdoorsy-types, Atlantic Beach has a Town Center with shopping and fine dining opportunities. Golf buffs can tee off at the more than 22 golf courses within a 30 mile radius. Nearby Jacksonville touts the Adventure Landing Waterpark and the Jacksonville Zoological Park.
