Cape Cod details

Provincetown, located at the very tip of the Cape Cod peninsula, was the location for the first landing of the Pilgrims. While for this reason, Cape Cod is historically significant to the United States, the entire region is also a great tourist destination, boasting miles of beaches, four-star restaurants, art galleries, museums and popular locations among antique enthusiasts as well. Golf, fresh-water fishing, and just relaxing on the beach are all enhanced by the often-beautiful weather of Cape Cod, with its refreshing sea air and comforting winds. The Cape Cod National Seashore, on the Outer Cape, is over 40,000 acres of protected beachfront, with pristine swimming beaches, sand dunes, dramatic cliffs, crystal clear "kettle ponds" and self-guided nature trails. The region is also home to many famous lighthouses, such as Sandy Neck Light in Barnstable or Cape Cod Light in Truro. Extensive bike paths are also found on the famous island communities of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, both of which have been home to dozens of celebrities and politicians throughout the century.
