Maryland Information

There are many ways to explore Maryland's eastern shore region: drive the quiet country roads, bike along natural settings in the forest trails, or explore the rivers, creeks, inlets and bays by boat. The Rock Hall Museum in the north exhibits a plethora of Native American artifacts and relics, and in the same area, Kent County, you can take tours of historic homes, some dating back to the 18th century. Further south in Dorchester County, you can visit the historical Spocott Windmill, as well as the Harriet Tubman Museum. For more outdoors activity, the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge in Rock Hall is a great place to find over 200 species of birds (including bald eagles!). The Blackwater NWR also offers up-close exploration of tidal marshes and brackish ponds.
