Pensacola Beach
The narrow brick streets, inviting plaza gardens, and architecturally magnificent fountains of Pensacola give the perception as though you've been transported to 19th Europe. Pensacola provides historians the opportunity to look back on the city as it was before and just after its conception. The Seville Square Historic District is the site of Pensacola's first permanent Spanish settlement and within the settlement is the Historic Pensacola Village, which includes several museums and the Colonial Archaeological Trail. At Fort Pickens, visitors can take a self-guided tour of this authentic fort that was active during the Civil War and later used as a jail to hold the infamous American Indian chief Geronimo.

Pensacola Beach details
The beach itself is immaculate. Like most beaches, snorkeling, boating, fishing, parasailing, water skiing and golf are all in abundance. But unlike most beaches, Pensacola is home to an almost 1,500 foot pier; the longest in the Gulf of Mexico. The pier is a great place to fish, and there are several bait and tackle shops available. Canoeing enthusiasts won't want to miss the beauty of the Blackwater River, one of the most frequented canoeing spots in all of Florida. No matter what your heart desires, you'll find something to satisfy it in Pensacola.
