Washington

Nestled as far North and West as one can go in the continental U.S., Washington may not seem like the place for a coastal vacation. The natural landscape and blend between the land and the water along Washington's beaches is so unique, though, that your vacation rental experience will leave you thinking otherwise.

Washington Information

The Pacific coast of Washington state is full of sights not found anywhere else. Additionally, Washington has a great ski community in places such as Bellingham, which hosts the annual Ski to Sea Race, a relay race made up of seven legs. Mount Baker ski area, in Washington, holds the world record for the greatest amount of snowfall in one season. Camano and Whidbey Island in Puget Sound are great tourist destinations as well, and actually both receive less than 20 inches of rain per year, contrary to popular perception of the area. Most of the Pacific coast destinations are also a short distance away from the metropolitan area of Seattle, a cultural hub in the area with all the amenities of the big city. But as with most of Washington, even the big cities are just a few miles away from vast expanses of beautiful wilderness. For more information, visit the Washington tourism page .
